Woody’n’You

Well, finally the sun is shining. And the glue is drying… I’d like to introduce the rhythm section:

On bass, Ron Carpenter…

On drums, Pawl Motion…

On piano, Crank Jones…

Personally, I feel the pianist model doesn’t have as much kinetic appeal as the other two (maybe that’s just art imitating life – sadly, we’re not generally the most exciting thing to look at onstage). So I don’t have that one. Anyway, there’s already one cranky pianist around here… These charming automata are available in kit form from Timberkits.

Our next lumber is a balsa nova which was made poplar by Cedar Walnut…

PS Now that music is probably stuck in your head, it’s only fair to tell you what it is. The tune is called Left Bank 2, and it was written by vibes player Wayne Hill. To Brits of my vintage it immediately evokes arts and crafts, since it was used on a ’70s children’s TV show to accompany a gallery of viewers’ submissions.
